One Big Step
If I could make one change to make our world a better place I would make sure that all of the fathers, mothers, grandparents, uncles, and aunts, or anybody who is in the war will come home safely and end fighting other countries. Some kids have never seen their parents or family members because of the war. I would make this change to our world because nobody should be putting up with other countries that don’t appreciate our nation. If they don’t respect us, just tell them to stop and move on and to find a better way to solve it without fighting each other. I think this big change would be an important one because I don’t think that anybody should be giving up their lives for our country. I think we should change this right now so families would not have to be separated from their loved ones. That is one change I would make for our world if I was able to.

Dedicated to Elizabeth Maceri and Grandpop
(Wrote for Lizzie my best friend who is dealing with having her father in the war, and my grandpop, who fought in Vietnam.)

Eagle

As I soar through the air on a later winter night, I see it, my target, lying straight under me in the wide open field. I swoop down circling my dinner and snatch it as quickly as I can. It tries to get away, but has no chance because I, the eagle, can be as quick and fast as lighting boltz and have the sight of hawk. I soar through the air heading quickly, but quietly, to my nest in a 200,000 year old Birch tree. As I fly to my nest, the bark starts to fall and I lay down softly. As my babies are waiting, I lower down their dinner and it falls into their mouths. I gently close my light and tender eyes and fall into a slight trance. As I awaken from my deep sleep, I lightly and easily dive downward. I once again, eagerly, try to circle my prey to snatch and bring back to my hungry, little babies that are waiting upon my arrival for their breakfast.

Raindrop Writing sparks

Hi, I am a raindrop that is trying to head up into the clouds to go around the rain cycle. I am new at this so I am just trying it my first time. This is what happened: I was in the ocean floating around getting ready for evaporation. It took a long time but all of the sudden I was lifted up into the air and I stopped. I was in a cloud. It felt really weird because it looked like I was just there in mid air but I realized I was on a cloud. Then I started to get closer and closer to all of the other rain drops. We all got into one big raindrop and started to fall. We fell onto a house and started to fall into a lake that was right next to the house. I just went through the water cycle. It was fun and this is what happens every day when you don't even notice all of the steps that happen. First evaporation, then condensation, and last
is precipitation. I am a little rain drop that went through the cycle of water.

This process happened a lot in the last week!!!! Thankfully it's over and we aren't trapped inside anymore. Mrs. Wimmer

Gettysburg
Today I'm going to a place called Gettysburg. Gettysburg is where all of the fights and battles used to go on. We are going to be touring the battlefields. There is going to be a person in our car that knows a lot about the war and is going to be touring us throughout battlefields. Last year when I was here with my grandpop, were going all around the whole visitor center because he fought in Vietnam and was very curious and taught me a lot about it. But now my grandpop isn't here so we are going to have another person that is going to teach us a lot about the battlefields instead. I am so excited to go there because there were lots of wars going on there and to know that we are at the same place they were hundreds or thousands of years ago, it is really cool and amazing. I am very excited to go and experience what all the other soldiers experienced when they had to fight for our country many years ago.battle-of-gettysburg-5.jpg

Hula, hula, hula, If I could go to any place in the world I would go to Hawaii because it is on a island and you can do a lot of activities when you visit. Some of the people that I would bring are my mom, my dad, my sister, my Nana and pop-pop, and grandmom and grandpop. some other things you can do there is surf the gigantic waves and body surf the waves coming out of the water. One other thing you could do there, is one of my favorites... Boggie boarding the huge waves that circle the protected island. Also, you can relax and enjoy the beautiful seanery that you are surrounded by. You should maybe even relax in the fancy hotels that you are offered to stay in, in one of the most, I think, best islands ever to be on the Earth itself.
If you are looking for having an amazing family experience, Try to book a hotel in Hawaii because it is a very
relaxing and enjoyable time you are offered to have with your family!!!!!!!!!!

Something that is especially important to me is a conch shell that my uncle Bruce gave me after he passed away. I was about 4 years old when my Nana and Pop-pop showed up at my front door. They came in with a big box that was decorated with all different colored shells and flowers. They told me that it was for me and that you are aloud to open it. I, very carefully, opened it and right there in the middle of the box was a beautiful conch shell that my great uncle used to keep in his old house. It means a lot to me because it reminds me of all the great times I had with my great uncle. The conch shell is still on my dresser and it has been ever since my Nana and pop-pop came and gave it to me. I think that my uncle Bruce would be very happy that I have kept it there all of those years. I miss him a lot but I will always have a memory of him from the conch shell. I think everybody that had a very close relative that they miss, should have something special to remember them.external image images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRDUNwsmcj_few9zoJF9e5xOmt8RSktVrl8Npv2tioq5BY1pKsMlv5ZQerkIg

Chop, chop, rake, rake, brush, brush, swoosh! Did you know that farmer work so hard to make crops just so they can have food for their family? They plant crops like corn, vegetables, wheat, cucumbers, and carrots. After they have grown them they can eat it with their starving family. But lots of the farms are on dry and plain land so they can sometimes get drouts. Drouts are when the family runs out of water and it does not rain for weeks and sometimes even moths so they have to leave everything behind to move to a different area where they can get water for the crops and themselves. Also, farmers usually keep animals on the farm such as cows, geese, pigs, lambs, horses, and chickens. They usually have those animals on the farm because if the animals die, they can cook up the meat inside of them to make food. It's grows isn't it? But it's true. It is sad to see animals die but sometimes happy for farmers because that means they have food for their beloved family. It is very important for farmers to live on farms because sometimes they are running out of food and if they live there they have automatic food, right here on the farm. Farms are usually surrounded by flat land with fields, otherwise know as plains. Lots of farmers have never even been to a city or even a park because they need to live on a farm because they need all the food they can get for their families. I think that it would be very fun, and they could learn a lot on the farm because they can learn how to ride horses and that is very enjoyable for most kids and even adults! You can learn a lot there by maybe talking to a very close family member that used to live in a city or a town. You can learn a lot from them by asking what it felt like to live out there. I someday would love to go see a farm and how it would feel to ride a horse and maybe even milk a cow. Would you ever want to visit a farm?

Do you know how to tell the difference between reality and television? There are many way to tell the difference. Sometimes when a character makes a funny joke, you may hear hysterical laughing in the back round. But when you are in reality, and you make a funny joke, you will not hear laughing in the back round. Another way you can tell the difference between reality and television is expression. When someone is talking in a television show, they use very good expression when the talk because they need it to sound good for the audience that is watching you on t.v. Another way that you can tell the difference between reality and television is rehearsal. When the actors are making the show, they can't rehearse it one time and it's perfect. They need to practice it over and over again until it is the best it can be. Sometimes when you watch t.v, you may see what the actors do when they are trying to make it perfect. They may make mistakes, so they have to try and make that scene better by rehearsing it once again. When you are in reality, you usually don't have to fix it and make it perfect. Lastly, you can tell the difference between television and reality because sometimes when you are watching a show you can see bloopers. Bloopers are when the actors make silly mistakes while they are trying to shoot a show, so they have to try start over and fix it. These are some way you can tell the difference between television and reality.

The Gray Plump Pest

As I stepped out of the door, I noticed it. A gray, plump, pest sitting in the middle of my brown square bin. It
squirmed all around as if it were scared to death. “Dad come quick!”
We examened the bin with the gray plump pest, as it squirmed all around. We lifted it up as if it were a as it rested like a soft slender pillow, that was staring at us deeply. He ws scared but realived because we were already in the car heading quickly but quietly to a wide open field that he would now roam. We stopped very suddenly and slid out of the car, and with the pest, walked to the open filed. We lowered him down as if he were money and he skitted away and soon vanished in the wide open, quiet field that was the home to the gray, plump, pest. As we strudded away from our very, now realived, little the pest. We wondered if he would ever come and stare and skitter at us again. Everytime that we pass the wide open quiet feild my seven year old little sister, Megan, asks if he still lerks in the home we layed him upon. We will remember this day because the gray, plump, pest, now has a safe and perfect home that he can now keep because of all of the words that I once said, “I will miss you little buddy but you must know, you are in a better place where you can always go.”

Sweater Poem

As I exit my house on a late winter night,
I am wearing one of the most gorgeous sweaters that I have in sight.
It has red stripes and blue dots with all different colors and sorts,
But then the dog came up and liked my gorgeous sweater and my beautiful shorts.
Now I went back inside because I had to change sweaters,
when the dog came up again and said: “That sweater belongs in a shredder!”
I was so upset that I almost blew, but then I noticed that other sweater that was not achoo!
The sweater did not have slobber of a dog on the front
so I jammed it in the back of my old car trunk.
I drove to work to change into my other fabulous sweater
when the lady came up and started up a conversation, even better!
“Wow, just look at that sweater, there is all different colors and sorts,
and even, matching shorts!
That extra splash of color in the middle of your sweater
can go vote on the most flashing and even better, slobber of a golden retriever!
OH so lovely it is beautiful,
Are you selling it or renting it to someone because I will pay,
OH I love it so much I don’t even have to say!”
“OH M ‘am I think you misunderstood,
This sweater of mine was …
OH yes you may buy it I am so relived,
This sweater is the most disgusting thing I do believe.
I whisper to myself to make the decision when the lady asks me did you make a choice because I have to soon go to the city of detroice!
Of course you may buy it and I am glad you offered that will be…197 grand dollars.
Every day I mumble to myself with pride
because of that one day with the mysterious money that I now hide!!!

It was last year when Megan, Bela, and I were outside with our trees still there and we were raking leaves so fast that by the end of the day the yard was completly bare. We raked all of the red, orange, and yellow leaves into one grand pile and then we took all of the colorful leaves into a bin. After we were all done we had at least 3 bins full. We were so proud of ourselves when at least 31 leaves fell from our tallest tree. We mumbled and then started to rake once again. This was one of the most enjoyable time we were having together because the leaves just kept falling and falling, and we kept raking and raking. After we were finished we looked at our work and said,"what are we going to do with all of these leaves?" So, we took all of the hundreds and thousands of leaves and dumped them, very carefully, at the end of my green slide. We sprinted inside of belas house to go get her brothers, Sammy and Andrew. They were so surprised when they saw how much leaves we collected! We all ran to the top of the slide and slid down. Soon we relized that whenever somebody slid down the slide, the leaves all got seperated. So we had someone stay at the bottom of the slide to rake and gather up the leaves every time somebody slid down. It was a lot of work but it payed off. That day was a really great achievment for us because we do not have any more trees in our backyard and we will now always remember the fun that we had when we did have trees in our backyard. That day when we did have trees in our backyard, the seanery was absolutly beautiful because all of the red, orange, yellow, and brown leaves are mixed together, they make a gorgoeus backround.
Every time when we are driving, we always look up at high mountains and see all of the beautiful colors of autumn. I love autumn!!!!!!

Graham Christmas
Tomorrow is the day where I go to williamsport to go see my family that lives far away. My whole family comes together on the day after thanksgiving. All of my grandmoms brothers come together with their daugters and sons. And those daugters and sons now have kids. So now we can play with our, second, cousins too. When we go there, we first check out in a hotel and then go to my Aunt Frans house. We all have dinner and then hang out for the rest of the night. This is the night I look forward to because we only do it once a year. My family means a lot to me because we all come together once or twice a year because we miss each other so much and we want to get together and spend some time with one another. I love all of my family because I have a special place in my heart, just for them!

As I walked down my hallway stairs, I smelled the most delicious cinnamon buns with warm eggs and sizzling bacon. My Grandmom and Grandpop were still in bed so I woke them up to go and enjoy the yummy Christmas breakfast. My aunt uncle, mom, and dad were already downstairs, so I crept down the steep steps to approach my breakfast. My sister and I already opened all of the presents so the family room was flooded with toys and people playing with them. My dad extended the wooden table as long as it could reach, and then sat down quietly and held each other’s hands so we could celebrate the wonderful day we are having with our family. We sat down and ate our delightful breakfast. It smelled so yummy and perfect. The cinnamon buns sizzled because it was so hot. It just melted in my warm mouth. The bacon was so crisp that it crunched while I was chewing it. The warm, delicious eggs smelled outstanding as I inhaled it. I could not complain about one little thing. I ate all I could until my stomach said stop!!!!! I emptied my dish and played with my toys. All of us went upstairs to get dressed for church. All of us loaded in our black and white explorer. Once we approached the beautiful church, we all walked together holding our shivering, rock solid, hands. We sat down in a long, brown, pew and listed to the priest. After church, we all came back to the house to lay all of our gifts were they belonged.
Then, we all went outside to go play with our neighbors. We were all screaming and laughing with joy! This was the best Christmas you could ask for because my family is here; our friends are playing on or wooden, awesome swing set, and this Christmas, snow finally fell that winter. Christmas is a very fun and enjoyable time that you can have because your family is here and, the breakfast was made with love and hard work, and lastly, we are all here on this chill, best celebrated day!!!

I ENJOY THE WONDERFUL, COLD AND SHIVERING, CELEBRATION OF…. CHRISTMAS!

Have you ever been stuck indoor because of a frigid, cold, blizzard. I have when I was about 2 or 3 years old. It was when my sister was very little and a huge blizzard struck! Thousands of tiny little snowflake fell to the ground. Even though the snowflake were tiny, they still left a huge mess. All around our whole nieghborhood, snow was everywhere. The cars had snow on them, mailboxes were covered, and even the tops of the roffs were completly snow!!! It was crazy but the great thng was that everybody could now go out and dp all the fun activities such as, snowboarding, and skiing... that is if we could get out of our house! The snow was about half way up our doors. We took a huge risk and opened the door and no snow even fell out. So, my dad went down in the basement to go get sovels and coats and gloves. He put a jacket on me then a jacket on him, then gloves on me, then gloves on him. We also put on snow boots and a hat. After that, we opened the door slowly and headed out. My dad first shovled a little path way for me to watch him and play but that little area was way to small, so he made it bigger. I stayed there the rest of the afternoon. When he was all done shoveling, we came in and ate dinner with a drink as hot chocolate!! Hot chocolate was my favorite thing to drink and boy, did that warm me up! Winter is the best season because even if it is FREEZING, you can still have a wonderful and realxing holiday! The last thing that can make winter even beter, is iceicles because they can be long and even short. You can pick them off of houses and put them in you freezer and save them for memorise. I LOVE
WINTER!

Did you have a fun time on winter brake? Well I did because my family and my friends came to spend it with my family and I!! On the first day off, we just relaxed and got ready for the next day. But during the night time, it wasn't relaxing because we had to go over to my excellent Nana and
Pop-pops house for dinner and church!!!! When we first got there we were greeted with my nana and pop-pop. My nana had a very entertaining christmas hat on. My mom and I both said at the same time,"What's with the hat?" She just laughed. While we were there, we got to open presnents! We got all sorts of things. We got toys, clothes from the new aroepastel, and a little twerler thing that you pull the rubberband and it flies 30ft. up in thr air!!!! Then we had dinner witch my nana cooked. It was splended!!!! Then we got to go to church. We got to go up front. The priest gave each of the kids a candle that you can light brfore you open presents. It was the christ candle. Than after church, we went back home to put out cookies and milk for santa. I made a long letter and then we tracked where santa was on the computer. He was in south america. My sister, megan and I both gasped ad shot down in bed. Soon after we got into bed, my grandmom and granpop showed up. Then, my nana and pop-pop came too. I was soooooooooo eager to open presents the next morning. They put us in bed and they told us to wake them up after 7:02. In the morning, we woke them up at 7:03. (because it was later than 7:02!! d:) ) I ended up sleeping with my dad because my sister couldn't sleep, so I woke up my dad and then woke up Megan and my mommy. Then, once my mom and dad were awake, I went to wake up my grandparents. We all brushed our teeth and they headed douwnstairs and they said ready...set...GO! We shot down the stairs and we gasped when we saw all of the presents. We sat down and lit the Christ candle and sang happy birthday to Jesus! Then we opened our presents. But half way through, we had to stop and eat some of our breakfast. Then we opened some more gifts and then finished our breakfast!! It was sooo devestating to not to open more gifts before we finished our meal. After we were done opening our gifts, we had to clean up the room! That took forever because it was flooded with gifts!!!!
Later that day, my aunt, uncle, cousin, Grandmom, and my uncles moms friend, Grandmom sweet, all came. They brought us presents too! We had such a fun Christmas day.
Then, later that week, we got to go skiing with my family and friends. We skied for over 6 hours. We had the best time. Then, my other set of aunt and uncle and cousins came the day after that. They brought us a whole new entertainment center for our basement!! They had to take a whole other truck, just to bring it down here! We set it up and then went to bed. In the morning we played out in the snow. The next day we got ready for new years! My uncle got sick, but the kids did still manage to stay up until midnight! My little cousin, Cadence, fell asleep, but we woke her up before the ball dropped! Than the next day we got to open MORE presents! My Nana and pop-pop came again to see my cousins. We got more gifts from them too!!!!!
The rest of the time we just had fun with our family and played with them! This was way more fun then I thought it would be!
Hello 2011!!!!! Good bye 2010!!! YIPEEEE!

My hard working Mom

My mom is an everyday math consultant. As my sister, Megan, and I always say,"She teaches teachers, how to teach kids." She leaves about 7 to 8 times every month. We miss her very much but we know she is doing it for us. The last time we went to Disney World was because of her. Some of the places she travels to to teach, are Erie, Connecticut, Witchital Kansas, and Kansas. She travels very far away from home so usally she stays away from home for awhile. Every time she leaves, she usally is gone for 4 to 5 days that week. We love our mom very much and what she does for our family is very hard work and she is the right mom for the job. Whenever you put an oppertunity out there for somebody to do that is in everyday math, she does it and she does it very, very well. I bet you don't know many moms that is a stay home mom and goes away 7 to 8 times every single month! We love our mom!

Sprained Ankle
Hi everyone! Today I sprained My ankle! (Saturday) I was at soccer and me and another girl went at each other. We both kicked the ball at the same time. I fell down to the ground crying. I limped off of the field and sat down on the bench. I stayed out the rest of the game. We tied. I went home and then my mom and dad noticed that it was getting swollen. My dad took me to the ER to get it x-rayed. We waited in line for a long time and then the doctor finally came out and they took me to the x-ray room. Once they were done they took me back to the waiting room in a new and improved wheelchair. It was pretty cool. Then we waited in the waiting room for a while then they took my dad and I back to a room. Then they checked the results. They came back in and said they had good news. They told us it was not broken but I had a bad sprain, and that they were going to fit me into crutches. Also, they told me that I will be wearing an air cast. So they came back in with crutches and the cast. They put it on and they taught me how to use the crutches. We went home and then I had to ice my leg. Every hour I have to ice it for a half and hour and then wait for another hour to ice it again. In between, I have to put on the air cast. It was tiring to keep switching back and forth and back and forth. I got used to it after a while. Right now I am resting waiting until Monday when I have to go to school with everything. I am much better and I want it to heal very soon.
